2018 PCI Award Winning Project: University of Chicago North Residential Commons

Midwest Structure Engineering is proud to be the Precast Specialty Engineer for the University of Chicago North Residential Commons project which was recognized with a 2018 Design Award by The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute. The challenge of the project was to build a multistory, three-building addition that would house 800 students while remaining true to the Gothic style of the existing campus architecture. Studio Gang Architects in Chicago called upon Midwest Structure Engineering for the precast concrete engineering of the project. “We’re proud to be involved in the University of Chicago project, providing a practical and safe student housing solution while enhancing the beauty of the community,” said Dr. John Wang SE, president of Midwest Structure Engineering.
